A collision at Wharncliffe and Highview Friday evening left one person trapped in their vehicle and required firefighters to cut them out.

According to the London Fire Department, crews responded to the crash and worked to free the trapped occupant. The intersection was completely blocked in both directions during the response, with drivers asked to avoid the area.

Emergency medical services were on scene, and three people were transported to hospital. The severity of their injuries hasn’t been disclosed.

Highview remained closed in both directions while crews cleared the scene. The London Fire Department later confirmed the road had reopened and thanked the public for their patience during the closure.
