The London Knights are adding some serious fresh talent to their roster with the signing of three promising young players to OHL Scholarship & Development Agreements.
In a move that’s sure to excite local hockey fans, the Knights announced on February 27 that they’ve secured Brody Cook, Jaxon Cover, and Eddie Hickson – three up-and-coming players who have been tearing it up in their respective leagues.
Cook, who hails from Birmingham, Michigan, comes to the Knights as a free agent signing. The 2007-born forward is currently showcasing his skills with the Leamington Flyers in the OJHL, where he’s racked up an impressive 45 points in 53 games during his first junior hockey season.
Cover, born in 2008, was snagged by the Knights in the fourth round of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection. The talented forward has spent his rookie season at St. Andrew’s College, where he’s netted 18 goals and tallied 33 points across 40 games. Cover has already gotten a taste of OHL action, making his debut with the Knights in January.
Rounding out the trio is Hickson, a seventh-round pick from the 2024 Priority Selection. The 2008-born forward has been making waves in his first junior season with the London Nationals. With 16 goals and 23 assists in 45 games, Hickson is currently tied for sixth in GOJHL rookie scoring.
All three promising players will finish the season with their current teams before potentially joining the Knights’ lineup.
This announcement comes at an exciting time for the Knights, who have recently claimed their second straight Hamilton Spectator Trophy and are heading into the playoffs. The team will be opening their playoff run at home against the Owen Sound Attack, with the first game scheduled for March 28.
The Knights are also celebrating other recent achievements, including head coach Dale Hunter reaching the 1000-win milestone and defenceman Sam Dickinson setting a new single-season franchise point record for defencemen.
With these three new signings and the team’s recent successes, the future looks bright for London hockey fans.
