When crews arrived on scene, they discovered the all-terrain vehicle was fully engulfed in flames just outside the garage structure. The District Chief who first arrived at the location immediately deployed a fire extinguisher to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading while waiting for additional resources.

The quick thinking proved crucial in preventing what could have been a devastating garage fire. The District Chief was able to hold the fire in check until an engine crew arrived with more substantial firefighting equipment.

Once the engine company reached the scene, firefighters used a hose line to completely extinguish the remaining flames. The coordinated response between the District Chief’s initial suppression efforts and the engine crew’s follow-up work ensured the fire was fully contained.

The London Fire Department emphasized how the rapid response and deployment of firefighting resources prevented a small incident from becoming a much more serious emergency. ATVs contain fuel and other flammable materials that can quickly spread fire to nearby structures if not addressed immediately.

Garage fires can be particularly dangerous due to the presence of stored gasoline, propane tanks, and other combustible materials commonly found in residential garages. The proximity of the burning ATV to the garage structure made the quick response even more critical.

The incident serves as a reminder of how quickly small fires can escalate without proper intervention. The combination of the District Chief’s immediate action with a fire extinguisher and the engine crew’s thorough extinguishment using hose lines demonstrated effective emergency response protocols.

No injuries were reported in connection with the ATV fire. The cause of the fire has not been disclosed by the London Fire Department at this time.

The successful containment of the fire prevented potential damage to the garage and any adjacent structures on Bridget Street. Fire crews were able to clear the scene after ensuring the area was completely safe and the fire was fully extinguished.
