A 24-year-old London man is facing charges after allegedly threatening someone with a knife in broad daylight near the busy intersection of Commissioners Road East and Wellington Road.
According to the London Police Service, the incident unfolded on Friday, October 24, 2025, at approximately 3:40 p.m. when a man and woman were in the area and encountered another man known to them.
When the known individual attempted to speak with the pair, the suspect who was with the woman allegedly brandished a knife and pointed it directly at the man before fleeing the scene on foot.
The confrontation didn’t go unnoticed by the public. Several witnesses in the area observed the threatening behaviour and immediately contacted police to report the incident.
Officers responded quickly to the weapons call and were able to locate and arrest the suspect while he was still in the vicinity. During a search of the accused, police discovered a knife in his possession.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the altercation, despite the weapon being brandished in what appears to have been a tense confrontation between acquaintances.
Cody Chasson, 24, of London has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon in connection with the incident. The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to make his next court appearance in London on October 28, 2025.
