If you’re a young person from London’s African, Caribbean, or Black communities and you’ve been sleeping on this, wake up. The deadline to enter the 2026 Lewis Coray Trailblazer Award for Youth is Friday, February 6, 2026, and the prizes are genuinely worth your time.

The London Police Service is running the award as part of Black History Month. It’s named after the LPS’s first Black officer, and it’s designed to recognise young people from African, Caribbean, and Black Canadian communities who are doing meaningful work in their communities.

Entering isn’t complicated. According to the LPS award page, you record a one to two minute video answering one of these two questions:

  • In what ways do you contribute to the Black community, and how do you feel your contributions make a meaningful impact?
  • What positive change would you like to see in the Black community, and how do you hope to contribute to that change?

That’s it. One to two minutes. If you’ve got something to say, that’s more than enough time to say it.

Here’s what’s up for grabs: the top three entries all receive bursaries. The winner also gets the chance to land a full-time summer job with the London Police Service. That’s actual paid work experience, not just a certificate for your wall.

The winner gets announced at the Lewis Coray Trailblazer Awards ceremony on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. Mark that one down.

For full entry details and to submit your video, head to the LPS site at bit.ly/4pSgCK0. You can also reach the LPS Diversity Officer directly at 226-268-4833 or by email through the LPS website. Their offices are at 601 Dundas Street.

You’ve got until February 6. Don’t leave bursary money and a summer job on the table because you waited too long to hit record.
