Fatal Collision on Fanshawe Park Road West Claims Life of London Doctor

A head-on collision on Fanshawe Park Road West has killed a 62-year-old London doctor.

Emergency crews responded to the crash near Pinnacle Parkway just before 8:25 a.m. on October 21st. The London Fire Department confirmed it was a head-on collision and extrication equipment was needed at the scene.

Both drivers were adult males who sustained serious injuries. One was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The second driver suffered life-threatening injuries and later died in hospital.

Police have identified the deceased as Dr. Agron Alija, 62, of London. No details have been released about the second driver’s current condition.

Fanshawe Park Road West was completely shut down between Wonderland Road North and Pinnacle Parkway for several hours while investigators worked the scene. The road has since reopened and all lanes are back in operation.

The London Police Service Road Safety Section is investigating. They’re looking to speak with anyone who was in the area between 8:15 and 8:30 a.m. that morning.

Police are specifically asking for dash-cam or security footage from that timeframe.
