Two Suspects Now Charged in December Hospital Shooting That Shook London

London Police Service

What started as a wild night in December has finally reached a major turning point, with London police announcing that a second suspect has been charged in connection with the dramatic shooting at Victoria Hospital that had everyone talking.

The whole saga began in the early morning hours of December 14, 2024, when what can only be described as a scene straight out of an action movie unfolded at London Health Sciences Centre’s Victoria Hospital. Around 2:30 a.m., police rushed to the emergency room entrance after reports of gunfire rang out across the typically quiet hospital grounds.

Here’s where things get absolutely wild – investigators discovered that the victim had actually driven himself to the hospital after an initial altercation in the White Oak and Southdale roads area, with the suspect vehicle literally following him there. Talk about a chase scene you’d expect to see in the movies, not in our own backyard.

When officers arrived at the hospital, they found a pickup truck that had crashed into a cement pillar right outside the emergency room entrance. The scene was intense – bullet holes riddled both the vehicle and the outside of the hospital building, with clear evidence that multiple shots had been fired.

The victim, an adult male, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the hospital before being released. Police were quick to clarify that this wasn’t some random act of violence – the victim was specifically targeted, and thankfully, the suspects never actually entered the hospital building.

Fast-forward to January 15, 2025, and the first major breakthrough came when police identified and charged 18-year-old Doneil Josiah Levy-Porter of Brampton. He’s facing some seriously heavy charges including attempt to commit murder using a firearm, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, dangerous operation of a conveyance, and several other firearms-related offences.

But the story doesn’t end there. Just yesterday, June 12, 2025, London Police Service’s Major Crime Section announced they’ve identified and charged a second suspect – a 16-year-old male from Mississauga who can’t be named due to youth criminal justice protections.

This second suspect is facing equally serious charges: attempt murder, occupy motor vehicle with firearm, possess restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a licence, and fail to comply with sentence. Both suspects are currently being held in custody in other jurisdictions on unrelated charges, which is why police laid the charges by way of warrant of arrest.

Throughout the investigation, police have been incredibly thorough in their detective work. They released multiple updates with photos of the suspect vehicle – described as a 4-door 2018 or 2019 Hyundai Sonata in grey or silver with a sunroof. They also made repeated appeals for anyone with dash-cam footage or surveillance video from the White Oaks and Southdale roads area or Commissioners Road East and Wellington Road between 2:10 and 2:35 a.m. to come forward.

The ongoing investigation details are available on the London Police Service website, where they’ve been providing regular updates since the incident first occurred.

What makes this case particularly striking is how it demonstrates the collaborative nature of modern police work. The Major Crime Section has been working across jurisdictions to bring these charges forward, even when the suspects were already in custody elsewhere for completely different matters.

For anyone who might have information about this incident, London police are still encouraging people to reach out. You can contact the London Police Service at 519-661-5670 or reach out to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS where you can provide information anonymously.

Both suspects remain in custody in other jurisdictions as this six-month investigation finally sees some major progress with these significant charges being laid.
