Looking for something to keep the kiddos busy this summer that doesn’t involve endless screen time? The City of London just announced they still have spots available for their brand-new Eco Rangers Day Specialty Summer Camp, and it’s basically the outdoor adventure your nature-loving child has been dreaming about.

The Eco Rangers camp promises to transform young Londoners into certified wilderness experts through hands-on exploration of local ecosystems. Campers will get to discover towering trees and tiny critters, learn the secrets of local wildlife, and even meet real wildlife experts throughout their adventure.

But it’s not just about observing nature—kids will also test their survival skills through interactive games and dive into investigations of both land and water ecosystems. Think of it as summer school, but way cooler and significantly more muddy.

The camp is running during two sessions this summer: July 14-18 and August 5-8. While the city hasn’t specified the exact age range for this particular specialty camp, their standard summer day camps typically accommodate children aged 4 to 12, with core program hours running Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Parents will be relieved to know that extended care is available at all summer day camp locations, making pickup and drop-off more flexible for those with busy work schedules.

The City of London offers a variety of summer programming for children, including standard day camps, specialty camps like this Eco Rangers option, and free neighbourhood playground programs that run in either morning or afternoon half-day sessions during July and August.

For families needing financial assistance, the city also offers a child care fee subsidy program, which can help make these summer activities more accessible.

Ready to sign your budding naturalist up for an unforgettable summer adventure? Registrations are being accepted now at www.london.ca/daycamps or by calling 519-661-5575.

The city also offers inclusion support for campers who require additional assistance, with specialized staff and adapted program options available. Those interested in inclusion support should email [email protected] to discuss their specific needs.
