Knights Make Power Moves Before OHL Draft With Multiple Pick Trades

The London Knights are making chess moves ahead of Friday’s OHL Priority Selection, securing a valuable third-round pick in a strategic trade with the Kitchener Rangers.

In a busy day of transactions on April 7th, the Knights announced they’ve acquired Kitchener’s 2025 third-round pick. In exchange, London sent Flint’s 2026 third-round pick and Barrie’s 2027 fifth-round pick to the Rangers.

This wasn’t the only move of the day for the Knights, who also completed a separate trade with the Oshawa Generals. In what appears to be a strategic swap, London exchanged their 2026 10th and 13th round picks for Oshawa’s selections in the same rounds of the same year.

The trades come as London prepares for the upcoming OHL Priority Selection, where they’ll now have an additional early-round pick to potentially snag promising young talent.

These transactions follow the Knights’ recent playoff success, having advanced to the second round after Sam Read recorded his first career hat-trick to help eliminate the Owen Sound Attack. London took that series with an 8-4 victory on April 3rd.

The Knights’ playoff journey continues with their second-round series scheduled to begin soon, as they look to capitalize on their regular season success and make a deep run toward the OHL championship.
