This London EnviroDepot Is Temporarily Closing Next Week & Here’s Where To Take Your Stuff Instead

If you’ve been hoarding old electronics and cardboard boxes for your next recycling run, heads up — you might need to rethink your drop-off location.

The Clarke Road South EnviroDepot at 28 Clarke Road will be temporarily closing for construction starting Monday, April 14. But don’t worry, your spring cleaning plans don’t have to be put on hold.

The City of London is opening a new temporary EnviroDepot site at 3544 Dingman Drive to pick up the slack. This comes just in time for the 30th London Clean and Green campaign, which encourages residents to responsibly dispose of their waste.

For those wondering what exactly you can take to these EnviroDepots — they accept yard waste, recyclables, and certain waste items including old electronics, scrap metal, and extra-large cardboard. Proper management of these items helps protect our environment, so kudos to you for not just tossing that ancient printer in the regular trash.

If the Clarke Road South location was your go-to spot, you still have other options. The Oxford Street EnviroDepot (1450 Oxford Street West) and Clarke Road North EnviroDepot (21462 Clarke Road) continue to operate with their regular summer hours.

But take note — if you’re looking to ditch construction and renovation materials, those are ONLY accepted for a fee at the Oxford and Dingman locations. And if you’re trying to get rid of large furniture or bulky items, you’ll need to take those to the W12A Landfill & EnviroDepot.

The Oxford Street and soon-to-be-closed Clarke Road South EnviroDepots are open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. during summer hours. They’ll be open on Easter Monday and Victoria Day but closed during other statutory holidays and Civic Holiday.

The Clarke Road North EnviroDepot has slightly different hours: Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. It’s closed on Sundays, Civic Holiday and all statutory holidays.
